Boys JV 4 Massena 1
The Golden Bears JV Boys Soccer team traveled to Massena on Friday night to face the Raiders in an attempt to complete an undefeated season.
A wind-aided ball that took a high bounce over Canton netminder Cade Chezum’s head into the goal put Massena on top early and was the only goal of the first half. Trailing 1-0 to start the second half, the young Bears came out with the wind at their back and put up four unanswered goals to make the final score 4-1.
With the win, the Golden Bears finished an undefeated season.
Scoring for the Bears were Ryan Jones, Josh Aldous, Christian Simons and Bradley Frank. Assisting on the goals were Jones, Michael Cogdill, Ethan Francey, and Jacob “Rosie” Rosales. Chezum and Jack Kerrigan combined for 8 saves in the game.
“I told former Canton coaching legend Wayne Willette this summer that this team had a chance to be special. They were a true pleasure to coach and the Canton soccer future is very bright,” said Coach Mike Wentworth.
