Canton Boys JV 4, Potsdam 0
Wednesday, both the JV Boys and JV girls improved their records to 5-0 on the year. The boys JV played at home on Roger Dusharm field against the Potsdam Sandstoners and came away with a 4-0 victory. In the second half Garrit Palmer scored the goal of the game on a cross from Frank. Finishing off the scoring for the young Bears was Michael “Coggs” Cogdill who scored on a penalty shot late in the game.
“We had another solid game on the defensive side of the field,” Coach Mike Wentworth said. “Cheese had another shutout tonight and the four guys in front of him were a big part of that. Those guys really buy into our system.”
Cade Chezum ended the game with 5 saves.
Canton will be in action again on Friday night as they will finish up their short season on the turf in Massena.
Game Note: Former Canton Boys JV Soccer coaching legend Wayne Willette once had an 87 game winning streak. In the winning streak his teams went two years without giving up a goal.
