A cold and wet afternoon in Canton, the boys JV soccer team out dueled a tough Malone team. The win improves the junior Bears record to 4-0 on the season.

Nate “Romo” Romano scored the first goal of the game on a penalty shot early in the first half. The score remained 1-0 into the second half when Vincent “Twig” Nelson-Fuse hit the back of the net off a corner kick from Ethan “France” Francey. In the closing minutes of the game Ryan “RJ” Jones put the icing on the cake scoring off a pass from Nelson-Fuse to make the final score 3-0.
“We really have a group of guys that take pride on the defensive end. They take a lot of pressure off the goalie,” said Coach Wentworth.
The Bears out shot the Huskies by a 23-5 margin. Cade “Cheese” Chezum had 5 saves for the shutout.
Game Note: Ryan Jones is the grandson of Golden Bears Coaching legend and Canton Hall of Famer Denny “the Bear” Jones. Coach Jones coached Golf along with Girls Varsity Soccer and Basketball for over 30 years.
