The Canton Cross Country teams each showed improvements when compared to last weeks times. The girls continue to make strides as Grace McDonough lead all runners on the hilly course in a time of 22:43. Taking third for the young Bears squad was Julia Bessette in a time of 23:18, Lydia Kennedy in 4th place with a 24:30 and Emily Pandel taking 5th in a time of 25:06.

Rounding out the boys finishers were Nick Lyndaker in first place with an impressive 17:40 followed close behind him was his training partner Max Finley in a time of 17:51. Both boys edged the other dominate runner in Section X Dylan Perry who ran a team best time of 18:18. Closely behind Perry was Sean Shannon from Canton in a time of 18:29. Although the boys ran very well and finished their first three runners in the top four, the depth of the Huskies prevailed as the FA squad won the boys race by merely 1 point. The Canton girls however proved that their team was not be outdone as they defeated the Huskies by 7 points, taking top team score honors for the day!
Note: Sean Shannon is a merger student from Madrid-Waddington. His mother Shannon Shannon is the modified cross country coach and his Grandmother Ellie Zehr was the former Canton Central School Administrative Assistant for many years!
