Boys, Girls Varsity Soccer Continue Impressive Start

The Canton Soccer teams continue to roll!

The young soccer season has created all W’s for the Golden Bears and the great start continued this week as the Varsity boys continued the winning ways by shutting out OFA in Ogdensburg by the score of 2-0 on Monday night.  Colin Taylor and Rhett Palmer both scored for Coach Caufield’s squad. Parker Hunt had nine saves in the game.

The girls varsity played at home on Monday, hosting the Lady Blue Devils.  Coach Kiah’s Lady Bears outscored OFA by the score of 4-1. Hannah Reed scored two goals and both Etta Coburn and Esther Shipman also scored for the Golden Bears.  Shipman’s goal may be the “ESPN” play of the week as she danced her way through the OFA defense and put one in the upper right corner to seal the win for Canton.  Bri Rogers had four saves in the net.

Both Varsity squads are 3-0 on the young season and will face off against the Gouverneur Wildcats on Thursday night.  Game Time 4 p.m.
