The results of the “Social-Distance Co-Ed Relays” which were sponsored by Bethlehem Central School were posted on May 2nd, 2020. Runners from around the state were able to compete virtually by racing against their stopwatches and then submitting their times to the race management team. Two relay distances were recorded. The first was the 4 x 800 Meter Relay. The second was the 4 x 1 Mile Relay.

Canton Central Athletes whom have been logging a lot of training miles this spring were willing to race on their own time to see where they measured up against the rest of the state. Cooper Stuntz (12), Arianna Whittaker (12), Grace McDonough (9) and Nick Lyndacker (10) finished the 4 x 800 meter relay in 12th place with a time of 11:42.0 but cracked the top ten in the 4 x Mile run with an 8th place finish and a time of 24:33.0.

Others schools choosing to compete included Ballston Spa, East Syracuse Minoa, Baldwinsville, Queensbury, the Wheatley School, and Corinth, among others.

Senior Cooper Stuntz who also competes on the cross country and swim teams intends to continue his education at Williams College in Massachusetts. Senior Arianna Whittaker, also on the cross country and indoor track teams will continue to race at Geneseo. Fortunately for The Golden Bears, Nick Lyndacker is only a sophomore and Grace McDonough is a Freshman. We’ll get a chance to see them race again!!
