An email from Superintendent of Schools Mr. Ron Burke was addressed to all Canton Central Faculty and Staff earlier today.
“Canton Central School is working hard to balance the needs for preventative measures with the need to maintain normalcy for our children. As a result, in reviewing our schedule for the next ten days, in consultation with our Medical Director, we are announcing postponements of non-essential events that would bring large numbers of community members onto campus.”
The following school events are postponed:
- Winter Athletic Recognition Ceremony, originally scheduled for Thursday, March 12
- FFA Dinner, originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 17
All non-school sponsored events normally held at school, including Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Hoopsters, Jazzercise and Skirts-n-Flirts, will not be permitted to use the school campus effective today through Monday, March 23.
As our Director of Athletics I appreciate the patience and support of the entire Canton Golden Bear Community as we work through the fluid and unprecedented issues derived by the spread of COVID-19.
