Bears top Wildcats in Boys Varsity Basketball

The Canton Boys Varsity Basketball Team downed the Gouverneur Wildcats by a score of 64-47 Friday night.

Canton started off hot in the first quarter building a 14-point lead. Despite being down early, Gouverneur battled back in the second quarter to cut the Golden Bear lead to 10 points at the half.

Canton struggled from behind the arc, shooting a mere 25 percent from three-point range. Despite the poor shooting, Canton was able to get the ball inside to sophomores Jonah Longshore and Chris Downs for a plethora of uncontested layups.

The Bears were able to extend their lead to as much as 23 points. Canton was lead by Andy Downs with 24 points, Jonah Longshore 15 points, and Chris Downs 15 points.
