The team numbers are on the rebound with a great group of younger players joined by a few new athletes trying hockey for the first time.
The team has five rookie first year 8th graders Emily Estabrooks, Cloe Baxter, Lucy DeCoteau, Mackenzie Wiggins and Ava Murphy.
New players include Harley Hanson 11th, Emma Chapman 10th, Jhenna Baxter 10th, Bree Rogers 10th and Jaelyne Awen 9th.
Returning to lead the Lady Bears are three juniors Katie Fobare, Phoebe Zagrobelny and Mackenzie Spicer and the veteran sophomore class including Olivia Logan, Katherine Smith, Autumn Wilson, Quinn Woodward, Sara Rodee and Kate Decoteau. These returning players are doing a great job leading, being enthusiastic and are working hard to help move the team in the right direction. The team lost team captains Paige Glasgow and Katie Premo to graduation and their leading scorer from last year, freshman Sydnee Francis, to a season ending injury.
The goal is to improve each practice and be competitive within the league. As with any team sport, team chemistry is very important. The success of our team will be based on their ability to work together and to improve as a whole team. The loss of these players leads to an opportunity for other players to step up and be team leaders The Lady Bears are coached by Anita Francis and Margret Troiano.
