With Scores of 25-21,25-10,26-24 the Varsity Volleyball team beat Bruston-Moira on their home court. Canton used all members of their team to grind out the road win.
Many different girls got the chance to make a difference Thursday night. Nine players scored at least one kill and the team scored 24 kills in total. Brushton played tough defense and had many saves on Canton’s strong hits. Although Canton made more errors than they hoped, they were able to mentally stay in the match and refocus to win.
Strong server, Katie Bennett had five aces with three kills. Hitter Sydney Lorenc had seven kills and two aces. Sophomore, Setter, Mattigan Porter earned the opportunity to show her setting ability on Thursday, she had many great plays leading to her four assists, four aces, and one kill. Setter Kelsea Whittier also had 12 assists and three kills.
The Bears play at home on Monday October 7 at 6 p.m. This match against Chateaugay is part of Canton Volleyball’s “Pink Week” during which fundraisers will support the Lodge at Dreaming Tree Ranch. Support Canton Volleyball and wear pink!
