Canton Girls Modified Soccer Dominates St. Lawrence Central After 3 Tough Road Losses

The Mod Squad was back in action Friday night on home turf vs St. Lawrence Central.

The Bears opened up with strong offensive play. Despite many scoring chances the score remained 0-0 after the first quarter. Stella Shipman struck with a nice goal during the second quarter from a cross by Gracen Parker. The girls continued to pour on the pressure through the third quarter, however, despite many scoring opportunities the score remained 1-0 Bears after three quarters of action. Vivian Coburn and Olivia Sommerstein held up the midfield with great hustle and defensive skills, feeding the ball up to the offense. Elaina Robert was a standout for the Bears defense with aggressive play.

The Bears sealed the win during the fourth quarter after a shot by Sydney Bogart assisted by Sara Aldous landed in the back of the net. 

The Bears will be back in action next Tuesday visiting Salmon River.
