The late Jeff James of Parishville was a longtime official in Northern Conference, Section 10 and collegiate soccer who will be inducted into the New York State Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame on Nov. 6.

This season, his fellow soccer officials are wearing patches on their uniform shirts to honor James, who was held in the highest regard as a friend and colleague. The patch says “Jeff ‘Jeep’ James Play On.”
Showing the patches are: Mike Girard, Scott Thornhill and Brian Bouchey after the OFA vs Massena boys varsity soccer game on Saturday morning.
James also officiated hockey and lacrosse for many years in the NAC and Section 10. James died in the spring after a heroic battle against brain cancer.
