Sign-ups for the upcoming youth basketball season in Canton are scheduled for Wednesday, September 18 from 4:30-7:30 p.m., and again on Saturday, September 21 from 9-11 a.m. at the concession stand near the gymnasium in the Canton High School. The Canton Hoopsters season will begin Wednesday, October 16 and is for boys and girls in grades one through six. Age groups are divided into three divisions: grades 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6. The first and second graders play on Saturday mornings in the Banford Gym from from 8-9 a.m. The third and fourth grade basketball program takes place on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings in the Banford Gym featuring coed teams. Times on Saturday are 9, 10, and 11 a.m., and times on Wednesday are 5, 6, and 7 p.m. Teams will play at different times each week.
The fifth and sixth grade basketball program also plays on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings in both the middle school and high school gyms, and is divided into boys’ and girls’ teams.
The cost is $35 for one child or $60 for a family.
