Modified Girls’ Soccer Shuts Out Route 11 Rival Potsdam

The Canton Modified Girls’ Soccer team traveled to Potsdam for a non-league scrimmage and came away with a 4-0 win.

The Bears struck early in the first quarter with a goal from Gracen Parker assisted by Olivia Summerstein. The midfielders, led by Vivian Coburn and Salma Moumen, transitioned the ball well up the field to set the forwards up for scoring opportunities.

The rain didn’t have any impact on the Bears’ play. They looked strong throughout the contest and continued to pour on the goals with shots from Sara Aldous, Gracen Parker and Sydney Bogart. The Bears played strong defensively throughout the game with consistent play from Winnie Downs, Stella Shipman and Abby Nee.

The girls travel to Massena on Wednesday to open league play against the Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m.
