This Saturday, the boys’ varsity soccer team traveled to South Jefferson to play one of their non league games. The bears came through and won 2-1. The first half ended with South Jefferson up 1-0.
The second half began with Andy Downs scoring a penalty kick, which tied the Bears up. With less than 5 minutes left, Colin Taylor crossed a ball that landed on the head of Andy Downs and into the back of the goal. Chris Downs ended the second half with a shutout and multiple saves. Strong defense by Chris Schuckers helped the Bears keep South Jefferson out of the scoring zone.
The team is excited for their next game against Potsdam on Monday.
